What would you think about your hometown or city renaming itself, "Google" to try and volunteer for their new fiber offering?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think it would be very strange! Apart from losing the historic name you grew up, say Smallville, you would now have to deal these issues...
- Someone asks you: "Where are you from?" You say "Google". They say "What?" Your whole life will be like an Abbott and Costello movie. :D
- Imagine trying to find say a dentist. You type "Google dentist" into your search engine, and it comes up with a squillion dentists everywhere but in your town!
I think it would be more fun to rename your town "Where" and rename yourself "Watt". Then you can have all the Abbott and Costello moments you want.
Mind you the home city of Toyota renamed itself Toyota. So maybe it can work.
