What would it take for M.A. to become so big that this could be used on a resume one day?

"Black Belt and Level 5 expert in 'Technology & Internet' on Mahalo Answers."
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think if you're looking for a job in, say, social media marketing, and you wanted to show that you were an active enthusiast, Mahalo would be good (along with being a Wikipedia editor and probably a blogger). Also, if you just want to show other interests, it probably fits.

Of course it won't count as real employment, because there's no oversight. An employer, looking at your resume, probably wants to know what you did for a previous supervisor.

If I saw Mahalo Answers as part of an online resume or portfolio, I think it would be interesting.

Lets say that I was applying for a job as a programmer. I might ensure that I had some really outstanding programming answers. I'd likely even solicit my network of "friends" here to comment and rate my answers to ensure that I had a few outstanding results.

Then, I would highlight these answers to add depth and a differentiating factor to my online resume or portfolio.

Other than a use along these lines, I don't think that M.A. could classify as a "job". To me, it's better than contributing to a traditional forum. I enjoy the point system and look forward to funding some upcoming outsourced labour with my earnings!

I think only when Mahalo starts advertising its service on the media as a top-brand answers system, and when we start seeing dozens of questions per minute, like Yahoo Answers does, but here with high tips. Or when the top people including you are getting 50+ direct questions a day.

I want to see when Mahalo Answers can become a full-time job. Darcy Logan spends a huge part of her day here and made 238 this month.

I do? That's news to me!!

While I know people think I spend all my time on Mahalo, I don't. Depending on what I am doing, I do have the opportunity to take a break and play on Mahalo a bit at different times during the day. But most of my time I spend working, not here.

I'll admit to an addiction. But the idea that I spend a huge part of my day here is so not true.
