What would be your dream job, if you could choose one?

Assuming you had the skills given you, what would be the job for you, concert pianist, airline pilot, model, actor, astronaut, dancer, or the scientist that finds a cure for cancer.

We have all dreamed, at some point, "I wish I could be..."

I have often watched television programs about some of the better Zoos, like the one in Auckland, New Zealand where they have breeding programs to reintroduce endangered species to the wild and I have often thought what a privilege it would be to work closely with some of the magnificent animals there and to build a relationship with them.

What would you choose?

My dream job would be that of a pirate. If I could sail the open seas, I would want to be the pirate captain or the quarter master. I wouldn't mind sweeping the deck or cooking for the crew, but that is too close to the jobs that I already do at home. I think I have many of the qualifications needed to become a pirate or a pirate captain. Pirate captains were elected, so I would have to have campaigning skills. Pirate captains had to be aggressive leaders and good in battle, but not too bloodthirsty or brutal. I would equate this same kind of personality with many of today's top CEOs. Pirate captains were good at business and had to know how to keep a crew together. They also made the decisions for everyone on the ship with regards to missions. I don't know if there really were any women pirates other than in "Pirates of the Caribbean," but I sure would like to give it a try. The only problem I have found with this is that there is not a lot of advertising for pirate jobs. I did find one Pirate Staffing Company, but I have yet to get a response to them about my inquiry regarding a pirate captain position.

Any dream job for this type of question should include a deserted tropical island. I would actually sign up for the "world's best job" where a person stays on a tropical island and reports back on their daily activities to promote the island as a possible tourist destination. Sure, a remote location like that would get boring after a while, but it would not be something you would have to do permanently. I enjoy travel as a part of working, and this would be the best of both worlds! The morning would consist of relaxing by the beach, the day would be filled with exploration of the island, and the evening would be an opportunity for relaxing and cooking. The best part about this job is that my boss is a thousand miles away since I am on a deserted island!

I actually have my dream job. I work from home on the Internet I do some writing for others and I have my own websites. I love that I am constantly learning about new things and the challenge of coming up with new ideas keeps my mind active. Setting my own hours gives me time with my family, and if I need more money, I don't have to go ask for a raise, I just change my focus to things that make more money.

The artistic side of me likes designing website templates and my own graphics and playing with different layouts. I can listen to something while I work without bothering anyone else, and I have co-workers online that I can connect with when I need feedback.

All-in-all... it is a lovely job to have. =)

Well given the skills I have I guess I have my dream job. I buy and sell apartment buildings and collect rents. On the side I have a construction company. With my given skills this is where I want to be. And my College degrees brought me here.

My dream job would have to be what I do now with writing, but on a larger scale and with more resources at my disposal. I would love to create an advice column or become a journalist that uses my talents to help people find out how to solve a situation they may be dealing with.

Also, I would love to be a famous author, but without the paparazzi following me and the media scrutinizing my every move. Furthermore, as a novelist, I would love to write fictional book that teach something to my readers or help them overcome different challenges they may face in their life.

Maybe if I work harder and sleep less…I will achieve my dream, but until then I will continue to do exactly what I do now and help people through my writing.

If I could have my dream job, it would be for me to become an animator at Pixar studios. I can remember seeing Luxo Jr. for the first time, and just being in awe. I had always enjoyed drawing and making flip-book animations, but had never thought about becoming an animator. I stayed with art through college, and had a chance to experience computer animation first hand, by taking a few introductory courses. I must say that those were some of my favorite classes from my entire college career, but also the classes for which I had to dedicate the most amount of time and pull tons of all-nighters, and that is saying a lot considering some of the courses I took in college. I learned that it was way more than coming up with a nice character design and drawing everything out. I gained an entirely new perspective on computer animation and digital arts, and would still enjoy doing it for fun today. However, I do not think that I have what it takes to put in 16 hour work days constantly like my instructor, so I doubt that I will be seeing my name on any closing credits of a Pixar film anytime soon, but I will always love animation.

When I was young I wanted to be a hockey goalie for the Montreal Canadiens. But I guess it's too old to fulfill that dream now. My other dream job was to be a famous actor or singer. I remember watching the Oscars when I was young and hoping that one day it would be me up there "thanking the Academy". I have not taken any acting lessons other than Drama in 12th grade so it would be next to impossible to fulfill this dream.

But you never know. There have been stories of people being discovered by chance, so maybe I will be one of them. Maybe I just want to get my hands on one of those Oscar gift bags they hand out every year.

My dream job would be to be a book reviewer. I am an unabashed bookworm and I routinely fall asleep with a different novel every night. I also love writing, so writing about books is about as good as it gets to me. Of course, I would probably need to go back to college and do a double major in Literature and Journalism, so that's out of the question. But, if it didn't require so much tedious (and expensive) education, that's what I would do in half a heartbeat. For now, I'll settle for writing for my work and reading for my pleasure.
