What would be the best accessory gift to give to a wine enthusiast?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

In my opinion, the best gift to give a wine enthusiast is a wine decanter. A good decanter and a little bit of time can completely change the flavor of a red wine. This is especially true of vintage & more higher end bottles of wine.

Decanter's come in a very wide variety of shapes, sizes & price ranges. However, the good news is that most of the very expensive decanters are priced because of their beauty, not because of their function.

Amazon.com has a wide variety of decanter's available and would be my first stop if purchasing online. If you have a good wine store in your area, it may be worth visiting to see some in person.

If it fits your budget, I would recommend getting a nice vintage bottle of red wine to "christen" the decanter with.

There are some nice accessories that would be good to give as gifts. A cork Screw is inexpensive and makes a nice gift. Or a gift card to a nice wine site like this one or wine.com

I'm a sucker for vintage wine accessories. Like an old rusty wine opener. I also love autographed wine bottles from my favorite winemakers.
