What would be a fun little thing to do every day (or every week) during 2010 that would be amusing to write about?

Like in "Julie & Julia," where Julie decides to cook through all of Julia Child's recipes by the end of the year, and blogs about it.

None of the "take a picture every day" kind of stuff please, those are horrible.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think it would be really cool to try to do something small to make someone's day each day. Pick a small gesture to do that day which wouldn't take much out of your own time but could really make someone else feel good. It could be smiling at someone in a store, complimenting a cashier at the grocery store, paying for the drink at starbucks for the person after you, tipping a server a little extra after a meal, etc. I have found that it doesn't take much at all to really make some one happy and it would be something that you could also write about each day and that would make you feel good about yourself. It would be interesting to see how your small actions impact so many others lives and how you change as a result!! It's kind of like the movie pay it forward but instead of doing one deed and letting others pay it forward. You could just do it everyday.

Volunteerism and community service.
One hour a week at as many different places within your community that will have you or if you like at the same place every week. This is the best win-win I can think of regarding a once a week activity that would be interesting to write about, read about and a helpful learning experience for everyone involved. Of course you did mention a possibility of doing this activity once a day.. in community service it has been my experience people will burn themselves out on it if the try to give too much of their own time .. a good balance is necessary to maintain long term endurance in community service and volunteerism. Once a week would be helpful to the community, to you and to the readers of your writings.. really inspired by would be a better way to put it.

Go for it.
