Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would venture to guess that the traditional desktop PC as we know it today will become obsolete within 10 years.

Television networks as we now them today will metamorphose into more of a watch on demand model.

Those few surviving standard film cameras will definitely disappear.

Newspapers in print form.

DVD's and CD's.

..and after 2 decades of seasonal appearances, the McDonald's McRib sandwich will also disappear.

1. Home phones. I already don't know anyone under 30 who has a home phone, so I think cell phones will finish pushing them out.
2. CD's. I think everything will go digital and be on devices like MP3 players and cell phones.
3. Video rental stores. Netflix and On-Demand are close to getting rid of them, so I would guess a few more years will finish them off.
4. Newspapers. I will be sad to see them go, but I think the internet will kill them.

I think regular cable tv. We saw regular broadcast tv disappear as digital cable flew in, I think HDTV will squeeze out digital. Cds is another I think will vanish with so many people switching to digital forms of musics. Even cars come with adapter pretty much standard now.

There are several things I can see will be obsolete in 10 years, some of them are already obsolete now:

1. Regular paperback books. I can see that people would still want to collect hard cover and beautiful colorful books (like me), but with the arrival of Kindle, ebook readers in PDA and smart phone, and ebooks being cheaper in production cost than paperbacks, I can see it becomes obsolete in 10 years.

2. Dial up internet. People without ADSL line will prefer to use GPRS or 3G from their mobile or USB modem instead. Way cheaper and faster.

3. Newspaper. People will stop buying it to read the news. They will turn to internet or at least TV instead.

4. CD or cassette. People prefer to download songs now. Way cheaper and efficient.

Ooh, predictions! Fun!

I sure hope sagging jeans become obsolete sometime soon. I know, I know, they are probably designed with the express purpose of annoying me, the middle-aged white woman. Well, they do!

Our state has developed an online state program for tax returns. Therefore, I think probably programs like Turbo-tax will be obsolete soon, as more and more states do this, and hopefully the Feds do this too, make their own program right online for us to file taxes.
