What will Apple's next killer product be? (bonus points for pictures of an actual prototype).

Coincidentally, I was giving this a lot of thought this morning, and it just so happens that I wrote a 1600 word blog posting on the topic: http://jaysonelliot.squarespace.com/journal/2008/12/15/will-the-iphone-replace-the-wii.html
Essentially, by the fourth generation of the iPhone (and iPod touch), I believe Apple will make a commitment to the iPhone as a gaming platform. Not just as a handheld device, but as an actual replacement for a home console.
With a little tweaking to its specs and a wireless TV-out connection, the iPhone could realistically compete head to head with the Wii for the living room gaming experience.
The killer product that I expect will be a sled for the iPhone which combines dedicated gaming controls, wireless TV-out, and a battery pack.
It will require a next-gen iPhone update to match, but that's my prediction.
The photo I'm including is of a third-party product that already exists, and doesn't have all the features I'm talking about, but gives some idea of how it might look.

M$That would rock! I bet they would take over like the Lance Armstrong "Livestrong" bracelets.
I like the look of this. If I had regular income and they made smaller ones that wouldn't fly from my small wrists (without inflating the inside a ridiculous amount) I'd probably actually wear it. Tech and Jewelery together ftw.

M$(more of a downgrade than an upgrade)
Obviously would open Apple up to a whole new and very large consumer base.

M$Making access to our data ubiquitous in the home is something that no one has conquered yet, and Apple seems to be well-positioned to take a stab at it.

Or perhaps they will make a game console. The iPod touch is positioned as a mobile gaming device (just look at the ads). Why shouldn't they make something for at home?

M$New product: Apple MacBook Mini - a netbook that's the same size as the HP 2133.
Updated Mac mini - using updated processor, NVidia 9400 chipset, up to 4gb of RAM, up to 320gb hard drive.

M$(edit) Now that I just typed that out, I see some form of a combination tablet and netbook. I don't see them release each, and a combination sounds right up their ally.

M$Anyway, current speculation leads to either (a) an iPhone nano, (b) a MacBook Tablet with multi-touch or (c) an ultra-cheap MacNetBook. I personally think that, if it's one of those three, it'll be B.
However, I doubt that there'll really be anything major that they announce this year. I think that they'll just tell us more about Snow Leopard, QuickTime X, the next iLife, things like that.

M$The fact that Apple does not yet have a netbook is hurting their business model; there is a HUGE market for "cheap" (or throwaway) laptops. Who wants to travel everyday with their $3,000.00 MacBook Pro. Taking a relatively cheap, reliable (OS X), MacBook Netbook on trips would be a plus that most, if not all, business people who own a Mac would be interested in doing. The day they come out, I will have at least one.
There is speculation in the "blogasphere" that the Apple Netbook will be revolutionary, using a new form-factor that does not require a normal keyboard, but a touch-screen keyboard similar to the IPhone. If anybody is in a position to take laptop's to the next level, it is Apple, and it will happen soon. Be sure to check out the "hypothetical" picture below.
