Martin Van Buren was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. He was born in Kinderhook, NY in 1782. His ancestry was Dutch and lived in a highly populated Dutch area. The Dutch Reformed Church is a Christian Church highly influenced by Calvin and other reformers.
