I dont recall any spiritual promises in any of the accounts himself Geronimo gave. However, in the book Once They Moved Like the Wind: Cochise, Geronimo, and the Apache Wars By David Roberts, there is an claim that Geronimo makes that "Bullets cannot kill" him. The scars on his body seemed to back that up, as it's reported that the man had over 50 bullet wounds (1).
There were many promises the US Government made to Geronimo that were never kept.
He was promised that he would be returned to Arizona with his family after 2 years incarceration in Florida. He remained in Florida well almost 2 years before being transferred to Alabaam for 5 years. After that he was shipped to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma where he died (2).
He was also promised to be given a house, farming instruments and livestock (3).
In my opinion, Goyahkla (Geronimo's real name), was a great warrior, because he had a free spirit. He was incredibly courageous. He loved his family and his people. He was a man of his word. He was in great physical shape, even in his elderly years. To me, men like Geronimo are the ones who carry the true spirit of freedom!

I have not. I'll have to google the guy. Better yet, I think I'll Mahalo him, and make other people do the research for me! heehee.
There are lots of informative books written about Geronimo. I really enjoyed reading his Autobiography. There are some others that I just cant think of the title of right now. I'll think about it, and get back to ya!
The Porter Rockwell books are awesome. However, I was constantly get upset over the injustice by the Mobs.
Geronimo told his warriors his power came from the one God. Many fought with him because of his power. The Mexicans gave him the name Geronome fighting knives against guns.
Have you read the chronicles of Porter Rockwell? Porter Rockwell could not be killed by bullets. He lived to be an old man in Utah.
As promised, here's some other really cool books about Geronimo, Cochise and the Apache people.
Once They Moved Like the Wind: Cochise, Geronimo, and the Apache Wars (David Roberts)
Making Peace with Cochise (Edwin Sweeney)
An Apache Life-way (Morris Opler)
I Fought with Geronimo (Jason Betzinez)
Geronimo (Angie Debo)
Geronimo: His Own Story: The Autobiography of a Great Patriot Warrior (S. M. Barrett)
Indeh (Eve Ball)
Cochise (Ed Sweeney)
Other Apache historical figures that are equally interesting are Lozen, Massai, Victorio, Mangas Coloradas, Chato, Juh, Gouyen, and the Apache Kid.
I remember watching a movie where Geronimo got this great vision and Usen himself told him that he could not be killed by bullets. I dont recall ever reading this in any account tho.
Also the Mexicans were actually calling for St Jerome (Jeronimo in Spanish) to protect them. St. Jerome was a doctor. This happened during a battle where, out of arrows, Geronimo was killing Mexicans with a spear and a knife.
