What wave length is responsible in making the leaves on trees green?

And the answer is not chorophyll

The chlorophylls in the leaves absorb all other wavelengths of light and reflect green light having wavelength 520-565 nm. Hence the leaves appear green.

There is a range, from 520 to 570 nm, there are different shades of green reflected from different plants.

Color is the result of reflected light. So what we see as the color of an object is because every color BUT what we see is being absorbed by the object.

Makes me wonder if the wavelength being rejected would be harmful to the plant...

I also find it interesting that if you're painting and you combine lots of colors you get a dark, dark brown/black.

But if you combine projected light (all different colors) you get white. Cool, huh?
