What was the location of the January 1941 attack on the HMS Illustrious?
On 10 January 1941 HMS Illustrious, while on route to Malta, was attacked by German Aircraft.
She was escorting a convoy east of Sicily and was attacked by Axis Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 and Ju-87 "Stuka" dive-bombers. She was 8 bombs and suffering extensive damage.
I need to know a fairly accurate latitude and longitude for the attack.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Ah ... That explains it :). Thanks very much for the effort. If I ever do track down a reference and the position matches up, I will definitely come back and tip you for the effort. Cheers.
I think the site automatically defaulted to "unfair", as I never commented that this was "unfair". I've answered it as "fair". For the life of me, I can't relocate my source - so there should be no tip for this answer. I wholeheartedly agree that there should be a reference for this answer.
Thanks very much ExpertKnowledge. I was wondering what the source for this information was?
Thanks.
Hi ExpertKnowledge. I noticed that you were not happy with my failure to select a best answer. I would be happy to select yours as the best answer if you were able to give me a reference for the location you found.
Thanks :)
I would be happy to select yours as the best answer, but I really need a source for your coordinates so I can site it in my research. Thanks.
Hrm ... not sure I can select a best answer any more, but I would be happy to tip you. Just need that reference.
