What was the last coupon you used and how much money did you save?

If you are like me, you may not remember. But, more and more, we are all working hard to save money each day and coupons help out. Do you remember the last time you used a coupon to save money? What did you buy? How much did you save?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The last coupon I used was some in store coupons that were tied to the shelves. I believe it was on shampoo, donuts and this cool skeleton hand pot holder. They were all around 1 dollar coupons so I only saved about 3 bucks. I love how some stores hang the manufacturer coupons in store like that and do the work for you... or the manufacturers who attach coupons to the front of products in the same manner. Though occasionally I forget to peel those and give them to the cashiers.

I also hit the discount racks that shopping trip and yet again ended up saving more than I spent. Nothing like looking at your receipt and seeing the bigger total under the savings line.

I regularly use the Entertainment Book for my city, Vancouver, British Columbia. I've used many of the detachable coupons to save money. Most of the coupons I have used have been for various dining establishments in the form of 2-for-1 deals. There was a coupon for the Vancouver Aquarium for 2-for-1 admission, which turned out to save me over $20. I've also been able to save $20-$30 on some of the higher-priced restaurants in town.

Depending on where you live, you can hopefully get an Entertainment Book for the area, or even in a larger city nearby. Often there are coupons for neighboring towns and cities. The cost of the book is in the $45 range depending on where you are. You will find many coupons in the book!

The last coupon we used was just this past weekend at Target. My wife and I had to buy some baby items for our daughter who is due to arrive in November. Needless to say, I’m beginning to understand why it can be so expensive to shop for children regardless of their age.

When all the shopping was done we had totaled a few hundred dollars and my wife had mentioned that she had some coupons she had bought. When the clerk was done ringing up our items, she gave the coupons to her and I was astounded to realize that the total savings was a whopping $4.50. While every little bit does help, taking four dollars off a $350 dollar total does not ease the pain all that much J

When I purchased a few books off Amazon recently I was able to use an electronic coupon to save on shipping charges as long as my initial order was above twenty-five dollars. The first book in the resource section cost 7.50, the second book I purchased was 8 so I purchased two more to push it over the necessary mark. I figured since I was saving on the shipping and handling of all books, I could purchase the extras and call it a deal.

In the local Wal-Mart I used a coupon for Angel soft toilet paper. I got on of the 12 roll packages and had a coupon for $1.50 off. This package of toilet paper is usually cost 6.97 so I paid only about 4.50 or so for the necessary item.
