The first cartoon that was produced for Television was Crusader Rabbit. Jay Ward who would later become known for producing The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show produced the Crusader Rabbit cartoon. The writers for the series were Alex Anderson, Joe Curtin, Hal Goodman, Arthur North and Lloyd Turner.
Crusader Rabbit was test marketed in 1948 then hit the airways in 1949, and ended its original run in 1951. There were 195 episodes of Crusader Rabbit created in this time line. Another studio Shull Bonsall's Capital Enterprises bought the rights to the character in 1957, and created another 200 episodes which premiered in 1959.
