During the Victorian era, there were a number of advances in cosmetics and beauty products and by the 19th century zinc oxide were very popular and many used this as their facial powder replacing the lethal mixture of the past. But not knowing though, Victorians are still exposes with some poisonous substances for their eyeshadow like the lead and antimony sulfide and lipstick which is the mercuric sulfide including which is also used as powder to make the eyes sparkle.

The only acceptable kind of "makeup" at this time are those makeup that has natural tones that can create pinkish cheeks without attempting to do a full makeup which is still considered sinful at this time.
In order to improve your skin conditions in spite of having rosacea, you can start doing something with your diet. The best foods to eat are whole grains, seeds, nuts and a lot of fresh vegetables and fruit. Cherries, blackberries, and blueberries can constrict the blood vessels which can help reduce redness of the skin.. Eat also chicken and fish instead of read meat while tofu is an excellent form of protein which has cooling properties.
Avoid eating hot foods and drinks or better let them cool to room temperature or cooler. Drink a lot of water about 10-12 glasses daily
