Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For 2010 it had to of been Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at the Crossroads in Kansas City on July 8th.
Even though the weather was on the damp side, Grace Potter in her typical fasion put on a great show.
I've been a fan for a couple years now since I first heard them and they never dissapoint when they come to town.
They play the type of venue I prefer and this Lady has an electric stage presense.
If you're not familiar with their music its worth checking out.
I look forward to seeing them at the Beaumount Club in febuary.
Here's a playlist of their performance at the Crossroads last July,

For 2011, at the moment, I am most looking forward to seeing the Decemberists at the Uptown Theater on Feb 7th.
It should be a fun night out and the first time I've seen them live.

I saw the Decemberists in Squamish, 2010. It was one of my favorite shows of the year :) They were great! Colin Melloy threw his pick out into the crowd and I got it! :D It was awesome!

I really had a good time at the Toby Keith/Trace Adkins concert this past year. I met Trace's band leader/bass player a few years ago, and we became friends. Since then, he's left tickets for me and a companion every time they're playing near me or I'm near where they're playing. And then we sometimes meet up after the show. So that adds an extra element of fun to those concerts.

The band I REALLY want to see in 2011 is the Scorpions, who are on their final, multi-year world tour. I really want to see them before they retire. Hard to believe those guys are in their late 50s and early 60s.

Alejandro Escovedo at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. Al is an incredible songwriter and guitarist, and the Sensitive Boys, his new band, provide incredible support.
The best name concert I saw was a big surprise. I am not a Hip Hop fan - at all. I was at Bonnaroo, however, and Jay Z was playing on the Main Stage, so I thought I'd take a look, and I was blown away! I saw hundreds of shows last year - and besides Alejandro's shows, Jay Z was the very best. Besides the amazing show ( the lights, pyrotechnics, dancers, etc.), what really surprised me was Jay Z's lyricism, and his mastery of both harmony and melody - often an afterthought with Hip Hop artists. A very pleasant surprise from an artist I would never have bought a ticket for. A couple of friends at Bonnaroo who had seen Jay Z earlier in this tour said the Bonnaroo show was a step or two better than any other Jay Z show they'd ever seen - the famous Bonnaroo mojo works again!

Definitely Tegan and Sara's! It was amazing! I was so starstruck I cried! I mean, it was just so shocking and amazing to see the band I loved so much standing right in front of me, singing my favorite songs! Plus, it was my birthday, and the concert was my birthday present. Best present ever :D So, definitely Tegan and Sara's :)
I'm hoping to see La Roux and Marina and the Diamonds this year :)
