Merlin Olsen played Jonathan Garvey on Little House on the Prairie from 1977 to 1981. His character was a close friend of the show's starring character, Charles Ingalls, played by the late Michael Landon. This was my absolute favorite show as a child, and Merlin Olsen was perfectly cast as Garvey.

He played Jonathan Garvey on Little House. He worked with the lead character Charles Ingalls, and later at the post office after his home burned down. He eventually left walnut grove to start a business.
