What types of wine pair well with spicy food, such as a spicy Indian curry?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I like light white wines, without the flavor of oak, such as a chardonnay that was not barreled, a sauvignon blanc or a riesling. A simple wine goes well with the riot of flavors of a curry. You could try the Beringer California Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2008 which is has been highly recommended.

I like a fairly heavy red, such as a burgundy or something from southern Italy. No sense going for anything expensive or subtle though, just something to hold its own against the spices. Of course, I think a good IPA is even better.
