What type of tops would be proper for a full-sized woman?

Are tops with ruffles acceptable? How about shirts with Lycra? What would be the effect of ribbed fabrics?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00

The same rules apply for dressing a plus size woman as dressing an average sized woman, you always want to accentuate the positive and camouflage the negative. Ruffles are acceptable, especially around the neckline because it draws attention to your face, perhaps taking attention from other places you may not want it. You can also wear shirts with lycra, but it would be better to select a lycra blend because you do not want fabrics that cling too closely.

The most important thing to note when shopping is to select items that fit you well. Fit the largest part of you first, then if needed, get your items tailored. You don’t ever want to wear something tight, thinking it will make you look smaller because it does just the opposite. Ribbed fabrics are even okay, as long as the fit is good, but remember that vertical lines are always better than horizontal.
