What type of pillow will give the best support for my neck?
I can not stand to sleep without a pillow. However, many times during the night I wake up and my neck feels terrible. Sometimes it hurts fairly bad and feels stiff in the mornings. I don't feel that my pillow is giving my head proper support.
What pillows are made to give the head and neck proper support to keep them from hurting?

I have had the same problem with my neck hurting in the middle of the night. So I decided to experiment with pillows. Using the following site I read about the pros and cons of each type of pillow:
http://www.consumersearch.com/pillows
Here are the three best recommendations I can provide.
1. Try a memory foam pillow. This has been wonderful for a lot of people I know as it provides great neck support. Don't by a cheap knock off brand though as the quality is poor and will not provide the support you need. Overall the durability of a memory foam pillow is weak and may be too stiff for your neck.
2. Try a buckwheat pillow. I never knew what this was until I cam across it on this site and I found it to be amazing initially. It was great for support and was pretty cheap so I can buy multiple pillows. The problem here as well is the pillow is really stiff and for some reason my neck is super picky.
3. Try a hybrid. What I mean is use a combination. What I am using right now is one memory foam pillow with a down and feather pillow on top. It provides the perfect level of support and comfort. It worked really well for me and I encourage you to try it out.
Hope this helps!

Having neck problems my entire adult life... I swear by a memory foam pillow. Make sure to get one with a thicker and thinner side so you'll have support for back and side sleeping. (haven't been w/o mine for 15 years!)
