I agree with @kerryk's answer. What type of math one does use daily depends on what he is doing everyday. If he is just an ordinary person then he's expected to use the fundamental operations only which are the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. If he is a math instructor or professor then we can expect that he does the math subject that he is teaching to his students – well it maybe algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus and more. If he's an engineer then he should be doing the math that most engineers use. It should fit to the person’s daily activities and business. As for me, I use the most basic math which is the addition and subtraction. I also use multiplication and division but not too often unlike the first two.
