If so, a systemic disease is a disease that affects multiple areas (e.g., organs, tissues, etc.)—and is also used to describe a disease "affecting the entire body of an organism". (1) As such, it might be helpful to think of a systemic disease as contrasted with a non-systemic disease—or, in other words, a "local" or "localized" disease.
One such example of would include Lupus. This is because individuals with Lupus "produce antibodies to their own body tissues which can cause kidney damage, arthritis, pericarditis, and, sometimes, vasculitis." (1) Because so many different organs are affected from this single cause—Lupus—it is considered a systemic disease. I've also attached a video from YouTube of a young woman describing firsthand her own experiences with having Lupus.
Some other examples of systemic diseases include: Sarcoidosis (2), Hypertension (3), AIDS (4), Diabetes (5), Grave's Disease (6), Rheumatoid Arthritis (7), and Multiple Sclerosis (8).
Hope this helps!
