What TV series had the most dysfunctional family? Why?

Tip for best answer: M$0.54
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Arrested Development without a doubt is the answer. If you have seen the show, you already know why they were the most dysfunctional family.

Quick Run Down of Characters:

Michael Bluth: The focal character who tries to do good. Yet had a crush on his brothers gf. Almost married a Mentally Retarded Female (MRF) and constantly is manipulated on the show.

George Michael : Michael's son...umm let's just say he wants to make love to his blood related cousin.

George Bluth Sr: Arrested for Fraud yet has faked his own death, escaped from jail, and planted his twin brother in jail as his replacement. Manipulates the whole family to get what he wants. Ohh and did I mention he used to make a show where he would record his kids fighting over stupid things and sell it to the neighborhood?

Lucille Bluth: Constantly racist and drunk. Loves no one in her family...except possibly for her brother in law who she might have fathered a child with. Hypercritical of every family member.

Buster Bluth: He has a FREAKING hook as a hand...what more can you say?

GOB: Michael's Brother who believes he is an amazing magician. Yet continues to use his magic tricks to hide from the son he fathered from high school. Ohh and he loves drunk underaged girls.

Tobias: Umm he is a never-nude. Meaning precisely what you think. So he wears cut off denim jeans under everything. He has overtones of being gay, yet is married and has a child. Does the stupidest acts such as trying to become a member of the Blue Man Crew or getting hair plugs for a magic act.

This is the Bluth Family... dysfunctional is their middle name.

The Most dysfunctional family in TV history would be the bundys of married with children I grew watch ing this sometimes and they where very dysfunctional yet I have to admit the show was funny to watch, but if a real family acted like that which i do fear many American families are like that if not worse. It would Hurt society as a whole.

George Lopez is without a doubt the show with the most dysfunctional family around. Not one single character on that show seems to be functional, not even George's friend Ernie.

I think the most dysfunctional family in TV history was the Connors from the Rosanne television show. This show, starring Roseanne Barr and John Goodman, focused on a normal family---someone we could all relate to. Except the family took things to a whole other level.

The Connors dealt with real life problems: a broken washing machine, not having enough money to make ends meet, and even touched on uncomfortable sujects like birth control and pregnancy during the teenage years. It was the kind of show that really made you laugh--because you always wished that you had thought to say that!

I guess I would need to toss 2 into the debate and then choose them in order of being dysfunctional.

In position 2 would be "Family Guy". Yeah it's a cartoon, but gee, a baby looking to get rid of his mother, a retarded father, a wealthy mother who married the retard, a son following along the lines of his father and a daughter not even the family is aware of half the time. Oh yeah and a dog who dates people characters.

In first place I would have to put "Married with Children". A dad who has let life beat him down, a run-around town teenage daughter, a son overly possessed by sex, and a wife who can do nothing but spend money. All in all it is a show that needs to be watched to understand the real humor or disintegration of the American family as the dad is destroyed by a family that is clueless as it goes through life.

Others that easily fall into the category of dysfunctional are "The Simpsons" and "All in the Family"

I guess the biggest variable to this question is who defines what the word dysfunctional truly means.

CALIFORNICATION!

They are a family.. but not married, sometimes they live apart and sometimes not. The man is having sex with a lot of girls and de wife married another guy. But the most interesting in the series is the family connection. It's impressive how they have made it
