What technology does Mahalo use? What language was used to build Mahalo.com?

Mahalo.com was built primarily using MediaWiki software - the same software that is used to power a number of other wiki-based website, including Wikipedia. From what I understand, this was done in order to have a system that could handle a lot of editing by multiple users, although there are many other benefits to using this software.
As Mahalo has grown, though, some of the limitations of MediaWiki have begun to make themselves clearer. Whether or not Mahalo continues to use this software in future remains to be seen.
