The city of Atlanta has four major sports teams. The Atlanta Falcons play in the NFL’s southern conference. The 2010 version of the Falcons are great. They sit atop the NFC at this time headed into the playoffs.
That Atlanta Hawks represent the NBA for the southern city. The recently resurging Hawks are playing great basketball this year, despite the trials of a new coach having to learn his way around the director’s chair.
The Atlanta Thrashers play in the NHL. They are currently sixth in the conference, so they are doing well themselves.
The Atlanta Braves are probably Atlanta’s best sports franchise. The World Series Champs in 1995, they are the only sports franchise in Atlanta to win the top prize in their sport.
