What songs improve your mood?

I love music and I enjoy singing my favorite songs. Sometimes I like to listen to slow songs while at times I want to put in some upbeat tunes that can make me dance. I have read an article that says music can help improve ones mood. I think this is true based on my experience. When I feel stressed out and cranky I just put on my favorite piano instrumental and I don't feel so tired anymore. If you are feeling low and sad what music makes you feel more happy? Do you experience any mood improvement when listening to certain songs?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The music that improves my mood is upbeat happy music. It's usually songs that are not really about anything. If they are, it's not anything bad. I love songs from the 1980s or have that upbeat sound like the songs from the 80s. I have noticed my son likes these songs as well.

Some of my most favorite songs for putting a smile on my face and making me happy include:

Walk of Life - Dire Straights
Say Hey I Love You - Michael Franti
Soak Up The Sun - Sheryl Crow
Soul Sister - Train
Hey Ya - Outkast
Milk Crisis -The Go! Team
I Got a Feeling - Black Eye Peas
Run Run Away - Slade

With those examples I guess anyone can get the idea of the beat I enjoy. This are mostly silly little songs that don't have deep meaning. The deeper meaning songs usually don't improve my mood.

This is a great question by the way!
Well first of all I would have to say that music has always been a big part of my life, and effects my mood no mater what! The type of music that improves my mood or pumps me up more than anything would have to be techno. There are also a few rap or r&b songs and artists that can do it as well. The Black Eyed Peas, are one of these bands taht is not techno, and another one would be Ludacris. Techno music though pretty much any type of it, I like happy hardcore, band like dj s3rl, and dj skippy. They always sing about really upbeat and happy situations and the music is just hard to not feel good to!

It depends in what particular mood I find myself so I have different songs that improve my mood. Here are just a few of them:
Mozart Sonata K.448 - when I need an intellectual, philosophical mood improvement .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckGIvr6WVw4

Ozric Tentacles - Mooncalf When I need to improve my meditative and inner-self reflection mood. Actually A lot of Ozric Tentacles melodies are just brilliant.

And from Widdowmaker - Emaheevul - when I need a combative mood improvement. For example before I go to Karate training.
