I am not nearly dainty enough for anything sweet or classical, yet not nearly edgy enough for techno, rap, or modern pop whatnot. For me the only choice would be The Wizard by Black Sabbath. OK maybe I am giving myself too much credit but it fits so well.

One of the things that really stricks me with the song is the positivity of the lyrics. Most realize metal is dark , but few see the messages of heroism.

Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, the wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell
Funny clothes, tinkling bell

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic

Sun is shining, clouds have gone by
All the people give a happy sigh
He has passed by, giving his sign
Left all the people feeling so fine

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic

I would have to say that this song best fits my life so far. I have had some very lucky breaks and also been knocked down quite a few pegs. I am married without children, have attended college but not earned any degree, and am in tons of debt mostly from said college attendance.

I was hoping you would like my choice @unwirklich! like the german version alot more but i figured "life is life" is better for a montage if you speak english. "Leben ist Leben" just sounds way more epic for some reason.

Haha no not at all, when i think montage i think of great warriors and adventure. My real montage would be a lot of computer, reading, and piano. Not that exciting. I would have to spice it up a little bit and have flames and battles.

garyallen's Avatar
garyallen | 1 year, 11 months ago Report

Definitely has that montage feeling--if you took out thepart where there are vocals, took out the singer and and added a sportscaster it could be a 2-minute opening to Monday night Football or the Final game of the World Series...
"These two teams have battled it out all season long. They've had injury, illness, catastrophe in their home cities, and here they are it all rests on this game, when one will walk away the champion. Hello everyone, I'm Gary Allen, along with Joe Shmo, and welcome to the 2010 World Series!"

I don't usually vote someone up if I've answered the question myself, but I could see this song working.that working fr a montage..

This is so easy for me, because it is the perfect song for me. I love the song, I love the band,. and the message fits the occasion perfectly. The words to the first line fit with how I try to live each day. I make it a point, a mission, to be thankful for all the good things that I have enjoyed. My life has been filled and surrounded with beauty that I never deserved and never in a thousand years dreamed I would enjoy. I've met so many kind people who have helped me, starting with my family and extending out to friends and ordinary acquaintances. I hope that after I'm gone, you'll rememeber that I thanked you, and that "when it all gets weird, I'll be here"

"Wherever I am, you'll always be, more than just a memory" how perfect!

I would go with "Duvet" by the group Boa (the British band, not the Japanese solo artist). The lyrics are not the most upbeat, but it's such a beautiful song.

If I created this photo collage of my life, I would focus the pictures of all the people who were most influential in my life, to somewhat fit the theme of the song.

This was a hard question, my life has been pretty..unusual..I'd call it most perfectly a beautiful sadness. Life to me is but a shadow fleeing through a series of rooms.. a little enslaved.. it couldn't exist without the sun and the moon...but in their all encompassing light it would be consumed...a self reliant sort of darkness....and I can think of no better song to accompany such an over all feel that Elfen Lied- Lillium music box version.

This is no-brainer for me, apparently because I spend too much time thinking about such things: "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" by Israel "Izzy" Kamakawiwo'ole.

It's not because my life has been perfect, by no means, or that I'm a sentimental fool. Certainly several years ago I would have chosen another song, something more hard-edge and cutting. Then I was diagnosed with cancer – I'm fine now and won't bore people with details – and that was a game changer.

It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was forced to reassess my priorities, my relationships, my life...and my perspective on things. And I came out the other end of everything a better, healthier, happier person.

And it's not like everyday is filled with rainbows, dreams, and lemon drops, folks. I still have plenty of days where I think my life would be better characterized by Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" or "Old 55" by Tom Waits.

But at the end of the day, what I embrace – what I choose to embrace – is Izzy's more uplifting song to remind me to focus on the memories I choose to hold onto and the life I'm trying to live.

And "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" is the song I played during chemotherapy, at the end of my first half marathon, and on the day I got married. It will also be the song that gets played at my memorial years and years from now, but probably without the montage. :)

If the question was merely what song represents my life so far it would definitely be My Way by the great Frank Sinatra. It's my favorite song to karaoke and the lyrics mean so much to me. Perhaps I will also have "I Did it My Way" inscribed on my tombstone.

But the question is a lot more. It's about a montage of my life and what it all has meant to me. As I look back on my 43 (almost 44) years of existence, I think about the people who have been an inspiration to my life, and who have guided me through the years. There have been many. I've met a lot of wonderful people (and unfortunately a lot of not so wonderful people) but there is one person who has meant the most to me and that's my Grandma, who passed away in 2007. She did everything for me (and everybody else too) and never asked for anything in return. Even when I was mad for whatever silly reason, she would always be there.

Even though the last few years of her life were spent in a retirement home and I was living somewhere else, it was as if she was always there. And I know she's still here somewhere. I do miss her but I know she's watching. And one song that reminds me of her is Bette Midler singing Wind Beneath My Wings. It just reminds me of my Grandma. Every image in this montage I owe to her.

I will have Aqua's Turn Back Time. While I don't really understand the lyrics, I think I want to announce that my life is full of regrets. My pictures will show my life and story as the life of regrets.

I don't think anyone should repress regrets for the wrong things we do in life. Otherwise, no one would show remorse for any wrongdoing, and there's no stopping the world from becoming a worse place.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-ALQyVDJM4

The idea that one should have no regrets in life worked for Frank Sinatra, but not really for the people of the Philippines. If you don't know the track record of the most favorite karaoke song in the Philippines, check out this news article on an idea gone wild: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/philippines/7199022/My-Way-deaths-lead-karaoke-bars-in-Philippines-to-ban-song.html

Honestly this may sound silly to you but I would have to go with "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga. My life is centralized around music, dancing, and video production so I think this would be the perfect song to accompany such a lifestyle. Also the instrumentals in this song would be great as the slides could change with the clash effects embedded in the music. I've also created a unique dance style which would be perfect to accompany this song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Abk1jAONjw

The lyrics to the song are not to be taken so seriously and this is kind of a way to express that it's okay to relax, not be so serious, and just dance!

I take a song that really sums up how to get the best out of life
It's a classic by Simon & Garfunkel - The 59th Street Bridge Song ( FEELIN' GROOVY!)

Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last
Just kicking down the cobblestones
Looking for fun and feeling groovy
Ba da da da da da da, feeling groovy

Hello lamppost, what'cha knowing
I've come to watch your flowers growin'
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doo-it in doo doo, feeling groovy
Ba da da da da da da, feeling groovy

I got no deeds to do
No promises to keep
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me
Life I love you, all is groovy

This is the song that sums up my life. I was never into drugs. But I relate to the song as I had a very trying childhood. My Dad passed away when I was 13, and my Mom was not there for us. I to raise my brother, and I did not have family to turn to. I was sad as a kid and depressed. I met my husband and had my two children and life changed. I had to learn how to live and I am living every day to the fullest. I take parenting very seriously and promised myself the kids would have the Mom I always wanted.

I love this song. I have found happiness and peace in my life and I never want anyone to cry at my funeral. If I die tomorrow I can honestly say I found the true meaning of life and happiness.

If I had to choose a single song to represent it,
it would probably be "People Are Strange" by The Doors (see source 1, below).

However, I did have a recent "life event" that I happened to put to music a short time ago

As corny as it is, I've overcome a lot of obstacles after being diagnosed with a life-threatening condition in 1993. But still, I went about my life, began a career, moved across the country, got married, traveled to Europe a couple of times and to Asia once and had a son.

Now, after making it through 4 strokes and neurosurgery 7 times,at least 10 ICU visits and almost losing my life twice in 2008, among the things I do now is volunteer to do advocacy writing for the disabled. I'm not shy of very big corporations or hospital administrators--or one to shy away from politicians. If I'm 110% sure I'm right, I diplomatically start at the top. And I get results--usually within hours, not within days .

(A bunch of not-so-nice stuff about the people who doubted me--and of the arguments that were had over whether I actually had the ability and influence to do this without getting in trouble--was deleted from here.)

I want to build it into a business. I'm already writing a book. I may go into politics at some level, but not as a politician (it's been suggested many times by many people). Most likely as be a lobbying consultant.

To think, I did all that, and may I say, not in a shy way. No, oh no, not me...

I decided some time ago that I'm sure it's already on thousands of others, but here's one more.

"I DID IT MY WAY" is what will be on my tombstone. Sing it, Francis Albert...
(His own actually says "The best is yet to come.")

I actually sang "My Way" to a packed Karaoke bar in Paris on our honeymoon in 2001, and I didn't know the song at all then. The monitor I was getting my words from was directly above another newlywed couple--with their party of 60. I handed the microphone back and an old man rushed me and planted a kiss squarely on my lips. A kid ran up behind him and said "This is my grandfather. He's from Italia--we're all from Italia. He says you sound just like Sinatra." I didn't mention that I was hoping to do "New York, New York" (I have that one down cold since it came out in 1982) and that like Sinatra, I'm also from Jersey.

I just walked over to the table, amidst a standing ovation of 200 or so people, and took a bow.

My Way--I've loved, I've laughed and cried,I've had my fill, my share of losing, and now, as the tears subside I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that--and may I say not in a shy way--Oh no oh no not me--I did it MY WAY!
For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he is naught to say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it MY WAY!

I have always had a soft spot for Kate Bush's "This woman's work." I first heard it while watching She's Having a Baby and was completely drawn in not only by Kate's voice but by the message of the song. Everyone has things they wish they would have done differently, or wish they had done instead of waiting. I absolutely try to live my life by this song - do what you want, get that extra kiss, do the thing you may be afraid of doing or may be holding off on doing, make it worthwhile. I do this with everyone important in my life, my kids, my husband, my family, myself.
I think of the message to those who will be coping with my death too about the strength they have.

what about all the soundtracks from my favorite movies, from the Sound of Music down to Moulin Rouge and Phantom of the Opera, it'll all depend on the scenarios of course, but i will always consider the songs of Beach Boys and a little more of Linkin' Park.

I would choose Stacie Orrico's There's gotta be more to life, just because I am never satisfied with anything. I really want to move right now but I have to wait at least a year until we have some debt paid off and money saved up. If I had my way I would move today, I hate my small house, I hate my job, I hate the town, the county, and the state that I live in. I hate the school that my kids go to, and I just am anxiously waiting when I can move on to something better.

You were there always
Now it's time for me to be there for you too
Always

I'll be there for you

I'd have to make a few montages. Tik Tok for the energetic one, Gives You Hell for the angry one, and so on.
