What should i feed my Great Dane?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The premium food for great dane is the Eaglepack brand dog food because this one best meets great dane requirements.

Other food that is suited for great dane is the raw food BARF( Bones and Raw Food or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) but this is sparks debates among dog breeders. Nevertheless, breeders report subsequent improvements in their great danes in terms of health and longevity once on a raw diet. But this is a choice that must also depend on the lifestyle of the dane. Some thrive on BARF and others respond well to processed foods.

Another option is to prepare home cooked meals for your dane. This is good for it will kill bacteria. You will find great resource containing some really solid dog nutritional information at this link: http://www.dogfooddangers.com/index4.php

Depends where you live.. what foods are available/

you must feed a LARGE BREED FORMULA, one with glucosamine and chondroitin for joint health

since I dont know what country you live in I cannot reccommend a brand, but either way you are best off to educate yourself on ingredient so you can ALWAYS tell if a food is good or crap

There are a couple types of dog food that I would recommend. One would be Kibbles n bits. My dogs seem to love it and it's good for them. It's not too expensive either and you can buy it in a big bag. Also a bit more expensive but really good for dogs is Purina One. I would say about three to four cups per day depending on how active your dog is.
One I would be sure to avoid is Beneful. It dried out my dog's skin out. Not sure if there was a relation but it was only while they were eating that food.
