What should I do with my 13 year old son in Buenos Aires, Argentina November 2010. Family friendly responses only Hotel in Recoleta area

We will be there for 6 days Monday through Saturday. Our Hotel is located near the Plaza San Martin and the Recoleta neighborhood of BA.

We will not have a car and plan to use public transit as much as possible. My son is interested in Mathematics, Technology, Magic and Argentina’s language and culture. Yes we will do the major tourist attractions but also want some great local color special interest sites to investigate as well.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Here are a couple fun things you could do that hopefully match your son's interests:

* Helicopter Tour
* Walking Tours
* Hands on Science Museum for Kids (Prohibido NO Tocar or Prohibited NOT to touch)
* National History Museum of Argentina
* Buller Bar - Magic Show in the evening

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Is the Buller Bar a place whre 13 year olds are welcome? Those sound like good ideas!

Does anyone know of a good well run bus tour that will give a "lay of the land" overview to start with?

take your son out, allow your son to be free, show him love.

That is the plan...create life time memories of traveling with his parents.

At this age "freedom" only works within organized boundaries...I am more than willing to be flexible but I have found that you have to have a plan...at least in the beginning
