What should I do in Orange County, CA that isn't Disneyland or a mall?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If you are interested in visiting parks and site seeing the beaches here is another excellent source to turn to for planning your vacation. http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/sections/discoveroc/?refcd=OSGeneral01-google-TravelMay-DiscoverOC-orange_county_attractions. I found this site most interesting because it not only has a guide to outdoor activities in Orange County, but offers several other fun things to do like golf, tours of different cities in the surrounding areas and weekend getaways. What fun California can be when preplanned. Have Fun !!

M$Go south and see the San Diego Wildlife Refuge. Fascinating to see lions wandering around free. Take the train ride around the Refuge. If you have time, see the San Diego Zoo.
Don't forget to get over to Venice. Pretty girls and boys!

M$1. Whale Watching, At Newport Landing Whale Watching, which has year round whale watching so maybe you could see a whale.
2. Maybe see a play if you are there on one of the days that a play is going on at Orange County Performing Arts Center http://www.ocpac.org/home/default.aspx
3. Go to the Zoo! I love any Zoo. Orange County Zoo http://www.ocparks.com/oczoo/
4. I am sure you already plan on doing this. But go walk on the ocean. The ocean is so beautiful and you can spend how ever long you want walking on the ocean. Personally I think this is a must! Why go near the ocean if you are not going to even walk on it.
5. OH MY GOSH I JUST REMEMBERED!! Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, Oh my goodness this was so cool, http://www.piratesdinneradventure.com/california/buena_park/index.html they like put you on teams and you cheer for your pirate, it is fun lol. Well it was a few years ago that I went, but I am sure I would enjoy it at any age. You get to eat and watch a show.
6. Ripley’s “Believe It Or Not!” Museum, http://www.ripleysbuenapark.com/ this is in Buena Park. I actually think The Pirates dinner is also in that area.
Enjoy your visit. (^_^)V
