M$What you should do if your son wants to wear makeup depends on his age. You can explain to him that most boys and men don’t wear makeup and while he is free to do so, it will create a certain stigma about him. There is a good chance people will think he is a transsexual (with a young child, you can just say it will make people think he wants to be feminine.)
If your son does not care about what people think of him or thinks he is a transsexual, I would strongly encourage you to talk more in depth with him about how he feels about who he is. I would also highly recommend that you and your family to talk to a therapist. Young people who are homosexual and transsexual (and their families) face a multitude of issues that usually require help from a therapist to be properly addressed.

We need to teach all our children to be tolerant and accepting of other people. Insisting that there's something wrong with boys wearing dresses harms everyone, by teaching them to judge others, by letting them think thier (their {sic}) better somehow, or "right".

It should also be noted that not every boy who wants to wear makeup grows up to be transsexual. Children and teenagers sometimes go through phases of thinking they are LGBT individuals but ultimately decide they are heterosexual. It could also be that your son has simply seen someone putting on makeup and wants to try it out.
Good luck to you and your son! I hope you found this information helpful.
