What self-tanner do you recommend for someone who is very pale?

I don't want to turn yellow but would like to not blind people with my white legs as it gets warm enough for shorts. The product also needs to be gluten free, although that is something I can research, but would prefer it if you already knew.
Tip for best answer: M$1.05
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am not sure if cost is an issue, but Decleor Sun Hydrating Self-Tanning Milks and Gels are among one of the best. I have not personally used it, as I have a natural dark complexion. However, I worked in the tanning business enough to know that for someone pale it needs to be a gradual tanning product. I have looked this up for you and going by all of the reviews these products seem to be the best for a natural looking, gradual tan and good for people who are pale.
I did see a list of ingredients for the Ingredients at amazon for the Decleor Aroma Sun SPF 8 Hydrating Self-Tanning Milk. I did not see gluten listed, but I am not aware if it can be listed under another name:
--quote--
Octinoxate (Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate) : 7.5%, Oxybenzone (Benzophenone-3) : 5%, Octisalate (Ethylhexyl Salicylate) : 3% , Avobenzone (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane) : 2%, , Inactive Ingredients :, Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Dihydroxyacetone, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Sorbitan Stearate, Propylene Glycol Myristate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Cetyl Palmitate, Steareth-100, Cyclohexasiloxane, Polyacrylamide, Cetyl Alcohol, Fragrance (Parfum), Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Extract, Cucumis Melo (Melon) Fruit Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Extract , Luffa Cylindrica Seed Oil, , C13-14 Isoparaffin, Erythrulose, Oleoyl Tyrosine, Laureth-7, Oleic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium Edta, Bisabolol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Citronellol, Eugenol, Coumarin, Evernia Prunastri (Oakmoss) Extract, Farnesol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Phenoxyethanol (0.36%), Methylparaben (0.08%), Ethylparaben (0.02%), Butylparaben (0.02%), Isobutylparaben (0.01%), Propylparaben (0.01%)
--end quote--

These products are available at Nordstrom and runs about 36.00

You might be able to sample it, or find free samples of it on the internet before making a purchase.

If you are looking for something cheap, I'd suggest Avon's Skin So Soft gradual tanner if it's available. I know a lot of people who used this, but I am unsure of the ingredients and it's not available year round. However, do not buy the spray, only use the cream lotion. The spray on is terrible and hard to control.

I know people who also use the jergens. However, some people I know loved it, while others said it left them with like a build up after so long.

Here are some sites that have reviews for the Decleor various self tanners available:

The woman in the video is using this on her face... and the face is the hardest from what I heard in the tanning salon to do. This product is for the body as well. I hope this helps, but if it is not in your price range or you find it has gluten, let me know that and I'll do some more research for you.
