A product of Joss Whedon (of "Buffy" fame) "Firefly" is the story of life in the future, where "Earth That Was" became used up and so humans moved out to the stars, terraforming planets. After a civil war between the Alliance and Independents in which the Alliance was victorious, a captain and his crew of the Serenity make their living on the frontier as pirates with a conscience.
The writing is tight and witty; the chemistry between the crew members is something very special. If you haven't seen this series, you're missing out. The entire first season is available at Hulu.com.
