What's your favorite movie of all time and why?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25

I've actually been wondering if someone would ask this question.

My favorite movie is Joss Whedon's Serenity. It has everything a great modern movie should: compelling, three dimensional characters; exceptional dialogue; a strong plot with plenty of interesting twists; amazing special effects (on a small budget, I might add); and a strong, appropriate ending. As a continuation of the prematurely canceled television show, Firefly, it framed the series and wrapped up some of its major questions, yet it can be watched and completely understood without the viewer having seen the series. Finally, while Serenity is a complete and satisfying story, there is room for a sequel, should that ever come together.

I'd have to say "The Crow" the original with Brandon Lee. This movie is an amazing film, with perhaps the best cast I have seen in any movie or tv show, brilliant acting, special effects and fight scenes are breathtaking and realistic. Not only all the techincal aspects but the story behind the movie and the themes underlying it amaze me. I also think the story behind the death of Brandon Lee while fiming the movie adds to it as well. I definitely recommend watching this movie as well as researching what happened to its main character.

I love "pretty woman"
I like the story, the way Julia Roberts acts it. I enjoyed the movie so many times. Each time it gives me the joy of the happy ending. I liked the way Richard Gear's character fells in love and go after his soul mate.
J.F. Lawton's story is wonderfully directed by Garry Marshall

"Edward Scissorhands" is my all time favorite. Tim Burton created Edward out of his own awkwardness of not fitting in during his childhood in the suburbs of Burbank, CA. Burton cites "Edward Scissorhands" as epitomizing his most personal work.

The storyline, acting, the beautiful visuals and of course the great soundtrack by Danny Elfman make it my all time favorite movie.

I actually have three (all very different genres): What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams (I love the imagery and the general theme), Pretty Woman (typical underdog and love triumph over all), and Reign of Fire (love the cast, love the premise, and the mix of past, present, and future elements in the plot -- ingenious).
