What really works for dry, cracked and peeling feet?

I wear sandals and flip flops entirely too much. My feet have suffered from all the friction. I have calluses, dry patches and cracking on my feet. Now, the skin has even started peeling off and it hurts. I want to have pretty, happy feet, but how? What really works!?!

I was going to say "Bag Balm," but it appears even simpler and less expensive than that.

Says eHow.com:

"How to Make Dry Cracked Feet Feel Better | eHow.com

Things You'll Need:

* pair socks
* vaseline

1. Well, your fist step is to make sure that your feet are clean by scrubbing them really good in the shower. You do not want to start this treatment with dirty feet because it would be nasty and it may not work as well if your feet are not clean.

2. Then your second step for your feet is to get your vaseline out it does not need to be the name brand stuff to get the same results off brand will work just as well. Rub vaseline on your feet, layer it on thick because it will not absorb into your feet right away that is what the sock is for. Make sure you put a lot of vaseline on the extra dry spots on your feet for extra help.
3. Then your third and final step is to put your comfty socks on for the night. It may seem irrating at first but the after effects are amazing so bare with it. Go to sleep wearing your socks so that the vaseline has time to soak into your feet and give your feet some needed moisture and therapy. Then take your socks off in the morning and you will notice right away differences in your feet and how they feel and look. Continue this treatment as much as you like it is great for your feet and not expensive at all either."

Someone posted same to The Berkeley Parents' Network-and says to ditch the flip-flops:

"'ve had the cracked heel problem for the past three years and found the solution to be three-fold:

1) Stop wearing sandals. Flip-flops, Tevas, Keens, clogs, any kind of open-heeled shoes exacerbate the problem because important oils and moisture are lost through the day.

2) Put Vaseline liberally on your feet and then put socks on them for the night.

3) Use that liquid Bandaid product which is a kind of ''glue'' for wounds. It accelerates the healing.

Simple but it works - Been There, Done That "

The great thing is that you don't even need to buy Vaseline by name brand. Any petroleum goo like it will do the trick. Same stuff, less bucks.

Another good example of that: "...Hand sanitizers made a big splash due to the great H1N1 panic of 2009. If this flu promotes good public health habits, as it seems to have done, this will contribute to sustained sales in 2010. OTCPN picked Germ-X as the best price/value of the group."

Germ-X is made by Vi-Jon here in St. Louis. I read once that they make an insanely high proportion of the stuff on the market..They make the stuff private labeled.

St. Louis Business Journal--in 2002:
"Shoppers looking for values in private-label health and personal care products have been driving sales growth of about 20 percent a year for at least four years at Vi-Jon Laboratories Inc.

Sales are projected to top $160 million in 2002, up 23 percent from 2001, and up 78 percent from 1999, said Gary Watson, executive vice president and chief operating officer. Employment has swelled from 400 people two years ago to 550 today, all working at one of Vi-Jon's three area locations.

Watson said Vi-Jon has added more national and regional drug and supermarket chains to its customer base, and has sold more products to existing customers. Vi-Jon also expanded its product line in the past couple of years, adding shampoos and body washes to its traditional offerings of nail polish removers, petroleum jelly, men's toiletries, antibacterial soap, oral care and baby care items.

Sales are so strong that the company needs a new warehouse and plans to lease space at Fountain Lakes in St. Charles, beginning in October, pending approval of local officials. Alternative sites in Earth City also are under consideration, Watson said.

The planned St. Charles warehouse, with 340,000 square feet, will allow Vi-Jon to consolidate operations and close a small warehouse at 5030 Berthold in St. Louis. The company also has warehouse space at its headquarters and manufacturing plant at 8515 Page Ave. in Vinita Park and at its plant at 6300 Etzel Ave. in St. Louis.

While Vi-Jon has its own branded products, such as Germ-X and Germblaster waterless hand sanitizers, most of its products are sold under each retailer's store brand, such as Equate nail polisher remover sold by Wal-Mart...

"...Vi-Jon has been a leader in bringing innovation to the private-label market, according to Biernbaum, who worked for Vi-Jon from 1989-94 before leaving to start his own firm, David Biernbaum Associates in West Port Plaza.

For instance, he said Vi-Jon produced the first private-label mouthwash to win the seal of approval from the American Dental Association.

"Vi-Jon broke the trend of imitating national brands and just slapping on a similar label," Biernbaum said. "Vi-Jon was the first to convince retailers that the better way to go was to build an upscale brand with its own points of difference, but still a better value at a significantly less cost than the national brands."

Margins in the private-label business generally are very low but Vi-Jon runs a "slim, mean-and-lean operation," Biernbaum said."

And what do you know..among the list of items their website says they make and private-label is...petroleum jelly.

I love working in my garden, but I end up with dry and cracked feet. I use CrackZapIt! and it gives me quick relief. It's easy to use--simply apply it three times a day for three to four days. The ingredients are all-natural, which is something else that's very important. Read more about using CrackZapIt! to heel your cracked feet here:

Raw organic extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil. Try it out. Make sure to find one processed in low or no heat and with no fillers being added.
