What RAM do I need to install, and how do I install it? (Asus EEE PC 701SD)
It has 512mb of DDR2 SO-DIMM and an IntelĀ® Celeron M 353 processor. I believe it is upgradable to a single stick of 2gb RAM. I know how to open the case. I don't know specifically what I should buy, or how to gingerly pop out the memory stick and replace. (I have done this with a regular sized notebook, so I know the obvious things like grounding first.)
Please tell me specifically what I need to buy (links are appreciated) and give me some guidance on replacing.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$I do not own a EEE PC and have not had the oppertunity to upgrade one for my clients. I cant help you with the specifics on how to get to the memory. I am checking if there is anything on the internet that might help.

M$Here is the link to the EEE PC Manual. It might help you find out how to upgrade your netbook: javascript:downloadfile(this,'Eee PC 701SD/XP','EeePC/EeePC701SD/EeePC701SD_XP_0730.zip','20','1','0','32','EeePC701SD_XP_0730.zip','0')
If that link does not work, do a search for your model number in the support section at http://asus.com
Here's how you install the ram.
Flip over your computer, there's a lid. You need a small Phillips head screw driver to open it. The ram should be right there. Visible. Take it out by moving the two metal hinges on the sides of the ram card and then pop the new card in. I found a video.
