Numerous public transit systems go to the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. The most inexpensive choice of transportation going to and from the airport is the Metro bus, which is the bus used in transit between the cities of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, amongst numerous other suburbs in-between. As of the date of this answer, bus fare is $1.75 one way.
The airport shuttle’s “Downtown Express” runs exclusively between the airport and the downtown Buffalo Metro station. One way fare is $1.75 as of March 1st, 2011, but keep in mind that the difference between this shuttle and the Metro bus is that the shuttle does not make stops along the way. Therefore, if you are looking for a short ride to the bus station, the shuttle would be your best choice.
Schedules are available at the airport and online at www.NFTA.com.
