What proportion of the world's forests have been lost since, say, 1960?
Can you find some solid and credible data on forest loss over the long term?
The data must be about proportions, i.e. X% lost, or at least allow the proportion to be easily calculated.
The starting date doesn't have to be exactly 1960, and and the end date doesn't have to be exactly now. But the should data should be about the trend over a period of several decades and reasonably up to date.

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife service has reported that more than 85% of the Forest land has been destroyed or logged within the last 30+ years. Another article quotes the National Academy of Science as saying that more than million acres of Rain Forests are lost every year. These are just a few of the many reports that show that forests are fast becoming an endangered species along with the wild life that they maintain.
