What processor can I upgrade to in my Acer Aspire 5532 notebook?

I just recently bought the Acer Aspire 5532 notebook from Best Buy (cheap haha) and am looking to upgrade the processor. The processor in the notebook is the AMD Athlon 64 TF-20. What processors are compatible with this notebook? I definitely want to switch to a dual core. Any links to help me in disassembly would be great too.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I just dpopped in the tl-50 and makes a big differance! This tiny thing now plays cod4 (a little choppy @ 1280x720) resonable. I am in the process of waiting for the tl-64 will repost if that works. Also if your trying to play a game or two try amd Fusion utility for a little extra juice.

I should have also put windows 7 cpu rating is 4.2 now so good upgrade still runs cool. Will try a bigger cpu later, google the cpu install process and there will be a few posts to tell you how. Ebay has tons of cpus for this search amd tl and stay with the tl series,

I would just like to add that I did buy an AMD TL-58 processor and it took me about an hour and a half to do the install. I got this processor off of eBay for ~$25 shipped. The difference in performance was incredible. Went from the laptop being very sluggish to very snappy. I would highly recommend this laptop with an upgraded processor to anyone willing and capable to do the install. The laptop has been running for over a month now constantly and is running great. Thanks much.

I just upgraded to the TL-58 dual core (1.9 Mhz and 1 mb L2 cache) and things are running great; a big boost to speed. It takes a bit to get to the processor, but take your time and don't force anything. Some videos on utube are helpful. Oh, and I bought the tl-58 for $35 on ebay.

Too bad, Electronic equipment like Acer Aspire 5532 notebook is not made for gaming purposes. It's a typical computer that can store files and other stuffs. Besides, the most important thing that should be present in a gaming laptop is not the processor, but a video card. And if ever you want to upgrade or change your processor, you also need to upgrade the motherboard; which most likely cost you more than buying a new gaming computer. The only thing that you can do is to upgrade its HD to at least 4G for faster performance.

I never once said anything about using it for gaming. I just want to upgrade the CPU for some better performance. It's only a 1.6 single core processor out of the box.
