Which current bands remind you of Pink Floyd?
There are so many bands out now, and most of them are starting to sound like bands from a much longer time ago. It seems that the 60's have come back in some artists, as well as the 80's in others. Do you feel there are any popular bands out today, that might have gotten any inspiration from Pink Floyd? If so who is it?

Of all the bands that are out there today, I would say the current Pink Floyd would not be someone in a band like the way Pink Floyd was. Let me explain. Pink Floyd was on the cutting edge of music. They discovered and used sounds that band had never used in the past and they brought an experience with them when they played and created.
I think the members of Pink Floyd today would be more into Electronic music and perhaps something more bordering on a sound like DubStep. Today I will say that perhaps, just perhaps a DJ like Bassnectar may be today's Pink Floyd. Bassnectar often plays dark and deeper music than other DJs yet it blends together in a way that Pink Floyd could do the same.
I was not fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd but I did get to see the Australian Pink Floyd Show It was amazing. But it wasn't only the music, it was the ability of the artists to blend sound with visual. It was a complete experience.
Bassnectar is also like that. There is a visual show that accompanies him and adds to the experience. I have included his most recent release below as the youtube video. Listen for at least one minute and hear how dark and deep the sound gets. Very Pink Floyd like.
I think Pink Floyd would have relished the ability to play with all the different sounds musicians now have access to. We can only dream about what they would have created with these resources.
