What phone should I buy?

I don't really use the internet when I'm out. Plus, I don't want to pay for the extra service on my mobile phone. I do; however, need a phone that has a full QWERTY keyboard as I tend to text often. A camera is a plus, but I "could" do without it. Music would be nice too. I've considered a Blackberry mobile phone, but it has more features than I would ever really use.

Is there a cell phone on the market now that you would suggest me to buy? Why?

Are there cell phones that you have had negative experiences with that I should stay away from?

Also, my mobile phone service provider is T-Mobile. And so, I would have to have a phone that will be compatible with that service.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Because picking out a cell phone is such a personal decision, I'd definitely recommend making sure you go to a T-Mobile store and physically playing around with whatever phone(s) you narrow it down to. As they say: try before you buy!

Having said that, you might want to check out http://phonescoop.com/ too. You can compare various phones against each other and read many user reviews for pretty much every phone model in existence.

You said you have T-Mobile, and so by going here: http://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/carrier.php?c=5 you can actually just view a listing of the phones T-Mobile offers their subscribers.

You might also want to check out the new phone from Google, the Nexus One: http://www.google.com/phone/. This phone has a lot of great technology in it and is currently considered by many people as the best "iPhone killer" on the market. In many ways, it's better than the iPhone. For example, the Nexus One's screen has much higher resolution, resulting in a stunning display for pictures, video, and text.

If this is your first smart-phone, you might also consider just how much you'll want to browse the internet, check email, etc., once you start using the phone. You did say you don't use the internet much when you're out and about, but you might find that all changes once you have a sweet phone in your hands. Anyhow, again, just something to consider while looking for a phone.

Finally, don't forget about your plan and what features you're going to need. Similar to what I said about browsing the internet, you might discover that once you have a cell phone with a full qwerty keyboard (and maybe a nice camera on it) that you end up sending many more TXT and SMS messages than you used to send. So, make sure you choose a plan that works for your current usage, while also considering how much you might increase such use of these features in the future.

Good luck choosing a phone! Make sure to let us all know what you end up going with and how you like it!

The iphone is still the best, AT&T the worst for customers.

Well, you should look at the Razzle. I think it's Verizon, but it has an mp3 player and a great swivel keypad for texting.

For T-Mobile, go with a Nexus One or the MyTouch 3g. I have friends with both and swear by them... I am an ATT customer, so I have the iPhone, so take it from my friends...

If you want to keep T-Mobile then I reccomend a Blackberry. It has a full QWERTY keyboard and good battery life.

Otherwise, I recommend the Samsung Messager or the Samsung Messager II.

My service carrier is cricket. I pay $40 a month for unlimited talk, text, and a few ad ons but cricket is good for someone who wants a personal plan. You can tailor your service to only include the features you want.

My phone is the original Samsung Messager and I have a pretty good camera, the full QWERTY keyboard, and if you buy a memory card you can listen to music on it.

My sister has the new Samsung Messager II. She has all the features of my phone plus a camcorder.

Right now cricket offers an unlimited talk and text plan for $25 for new members but I recall a texter's delight plan. You can port your number from most carriers.

Choosing a mobile phone is a very personal activity, using many different criteria based on an individuals needs. I would suggest checking this article before making that decision. http://crackberry.com/crackberry-kevins-hierarchy-smartphone-needs-smartphone-round-robin . However, based on the question I can tell you any phone that meets your criteria is going to be a smartphone or feature phone.

Based on T-mobile free phones I would say the Samsung Gravity 2 would be a good phone. If you dont mind paying a little cash, the T-Mobile Sidekick LX™ - Carbon would be excellent.
You can take that to the bank, as I am a Blackberry fanboy for life.
