what other states does the fault line run through

can you help me
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The list is as follows:

Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, and Arkansas, with possibly a bit into Kentucky.

According to http://www.eas.slu.edu/Earthquake_Center/SEISMICITY/newmadrid1975-1995.html : "The leinear features fo seismicity run from Cairo, IL to Marston, MO, then to Ridgely, TN, then beneath Blytheville, AR to Marked Tree AR. There is a slight pattern going west of Marston, MO toward Malden, MO."

See also maps at http://www.showme.net/~fkeller/quake/maps3.htm#segments

That site also has a map of New Madrid fault line quakes from 1975 to 1995. You can access more resources at http://quake.ualr.edu/public/nmfz.htm and http://www.showme.net/~fkeller/quake/sitemap.htm .
