What online backup solution do you recommend for home users? PC and Mac friendly? (meaning virtual hard drive)
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$I eliminated Carbonite because they had an incident where they lost data for many customers. I considered Mozy and Backblaze, but wound up using SafeCopy http://www.safecopybackup.com. It is not unlimited (150GB or 250GB), but backing up terabytes online is impractical anyway because of the speed,. It does support Windows and Mac, and Linux support is in beta. Most importantly to me, it lets you back up anything without additional charges - multiple computers, external hard drives, etc. Most services charge per machine.
