What NHL players were considered the baddest all time by the Police Gazette and other publications?
Since I am from Detroit, I know 4 off the top of my head; Howie Young, rated number one by the Police Gazette, Ted Lindsay, Bob Probert and Joey Kocur. I also feel the Grim Reaper was tough as was Jim Kyte, Marty McSorely and others. If you want to list a few fine, but be sure to pick your top dog. What players had cities issue arrest warrants for them because of a Hockey fight, such as Dan Maloney? Who are the toughs in today’s game?

You ask who are the baddest of all time by Police Gazette, although I couldnt find the article you are referring too, I can answer who you ask are the toughs in today's game.
There are really two different types of tough, there are the pests who can contribute offensively and defensively - Like Sean Avery, Steve Ott, Maxime Lapierre who also like to get into the oppositions head, these guys have to drop the gloves a lot.
Then there are the goons, 4th lines who play 3 minutes a night and rack up tonnes of penalty minutes. Last years PIM leader was Zenon Konopka
