What NFL head coach will be on the hottest seat when the 2010 season opens?

When the 2010 NFL season kicks off there will be quite a few coaches that their individual team’s fans won’t exactly be ecstatic to see return. The Chicago Bears’s Lovie Smith is one who most fans would be okay seeing go. Bengals]’s head coach Marvin Lewis is also someone who hasn’t necessarily provided the fan base with as many wins as they would like. Are there other coaches who you think are on the hot seat? Are there coaches who have a hotter seat than Smith or Lewis?

Good question. I have hear about several coaches around the league on the hot seat. There have been talks circulating around Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable since last season, so I was suspect improvement needs to be made for him to keep his job. Perry Fewell of the Buffalo Bills is under scrutiny and there were talks about Bill Cowher possibly being interested but it's also noted that Cowher most likely does not want to coach in 2010. Raheem Morris of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could very well be a one year and done deal and don't be surprised if Cowher's name comes up in head coaching discussions there as well. Mike Holmgren, General Manager of the Cleveland Browns had discussions with Eric Mangini about head coaching philosophy and personality. If Holmgren isn't comfortable with Magnini, don't be surprised if he looks for a coaching change, perhaps with someone like John Gruden should Gruden become available. But I must agree that Lovie Smith might have the hottest seat. It was reported that Smith was asked to make significant changes in staff and personnel on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. If that doesn't happen, Smith's job could very well be in jeopardy.

I think Lovie Smith is on the hottest seat among the coaches in the NFL. The Chicago Bears was on a losing end last season. Inflicted with a dismal record Jones is pressured to turn the tide on their favor if he wishes to stay longer with the organization. The odds doesn’t even favor them, they don have a first and second round picks last season and this year, which is a difficult situation that they should overcome, to get back on track.

The Bears made a mixture of great and bad moves last season with their trades, FA signings and handing out lucrative contracts to players that doesn’t living up to the expectations mete out on them.
The majority of the fans are no longer happy. But the organization is on a dilemma, fire the rebuilding coach Smith and entrust their future further or stick with him and wish Lady Luck would smile on them this season.

I am going to make this unanimous. Lovie Smith is not only in the hot seat, his chair has been electrified. When he brought in Mike Martz] as his offensive coordinator, he made either a brilliant move or wrote his own epitaph. Martz is arrogant and known to have no problem voicing his opinion. He runs the offense like Captain Ahab commanded his ship and has no problem showing his disdain for a head coach who may have a difference of opinion with him. The can expect Quarterback Jay Cutler to be near the top of the NFL in sacks and interceptions. This is just the sideshow of Martz' offense. In Martz own words, "It takes three or four seasons to learn his system". So the bottom line is, can the Bears new offense generate enough points to save Lovie Smith's coaching job or will it result in an early exit for the head coach? I wish him all the luck in the world. Heck even the fans are unsure of what they are saying or what is going on. It sounds like they may be on drugs or something from listening to the attached video.
