The main campus Arizona State University is located in Tempe, Arizona. The campus is spread across 4 campuses in the Phoenix area. The main, and original campus in Tempe. The West campus in Glendale. The Polytechnic campus in the East Valley (East Mesa). And the Downtown Phoenix campus.
Some info (from personal experience) on the main campus: The Tempe Campus is right in the heart of Tempe. You will get an old town feel in downtown Tempe. From students riding bikes to and from classes, to skateboards, and even scooters. Downtown Tempe has a lot of hustle and bustle - all because of the college. Theres lots to do in Tempe near the campus, most within walking distance. Taxi cabs constantly go through the area, so theres never one too far away.
