I've found a wonderful site that shows you photos of the animals as well as tells you about them (1) so please have a look, they are very good!
Now, most Australian deserts have problems with feral animals like camels, cats, foxes and rabbits (2) but you didn't ask about them....
Some of the native animals of the Great Sandy Desert are
Bilbies - a native marsupial that we use as a symbol for Easter instead of a rabbit :)
Thorny Devils - very spiky throned lizard
Bearded Dragons - lizard
Red Kangaroo - kangaroo, these grow quite big
Goannas - big lizards, especially the Perentie
There are also birds like galahs, cockatoos and parrots
