What musician or band should the next Cirque du Soleil show base their music on?

Las Vegas has two Cirque du Soleil shows based on the music of a popular musician or band. The first was Love, based on the music of The Beatles. The Aria Casino Las Vegas has the music of Elvis Presley featured in the show Viva Elvis. Cirque du Soleil has announced a new show based on the music of the late Michael Jackson, due out in 2011http://promo-www.cirquedusoleil.com/michael-jackson/en/index.html. Who is next? Which band or musician has a discography large enough to put together a good show? ABBA? Bee Gees? Rolling Stones?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have never seen any of the Cirque du Soleil shows based on musicians, but I did have the privilege to see Delirium twice. The music for the show was great featuring a lot of drums with heavy, heart pumping beats and some other very festive music. The show was great. I so think their shows stand alone without the help of famous musicians, but I am sure this is a target to get other people who thinks it is simply a freak show to attend. I am sure it draws in crowds to have a show based on big name performers. I think for that reason they should do the Michael Jackson. A lot of his music is upbeat and great to dance to. Michael was also eccentric and had odd costumes that would fit Cirque's style. Can you just imagine 'Thriller' by them. I bet it will be frightfully delicious.

If it was up to me... I would pick Fleetwood Mac or Led Zepplin :)

I would pick Queen, the famous British band. I think that their music is complex enough to be able to support such a show.
