The 2010 MTV Movie Awards were announced on June 6, 2010, live from Los Angeles, and hosted by Aziz Ansari. The live musical entertainment was provided by Katy Perry (featuring Snoop Dogg, and Christina Aguilera. Additional cameos featuring Ludacris and Jennifer Lopez were provided by music producer, Les Grossman. Host, Aziz Ansari, also added to the musical entertainment by singing a tribute to Avatar
The performers at the 2009 Awards were Eminem, LeAnn Rimes with Chris Isaak and Forest Whitaker, and Kings of Leon.
On Nov. 23, 2010, MTV announced that the 2011 MTV Movie Awards will be presented on June 5, 2011. They also announced that the MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live on August 28, 2011, and the Woodie Awards will be aired live for the first time on March 16.
