What music studios are located in Memphis, TN?

Which music studios are based in and around Memphis? Has any famous music been recorded there, and are any open to the public if I want to record a track in the studio?
Tip for best answer: M$1.01
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are numerous musical landmarks in Memphis Tennessee. The list below contains just a short sample

1) Stax - Known as the epitome of sixties soul.It was built from the remains of an older movie theatre and was eventually torn down in 1989. However, it was later rebuilt in the exact location.

2) Sun -- Located at 706 Union Avenue, the Sun is believed to the birthplace of rock and roll. Some of the famous artists who got their starts here include Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee and Johnny Cash. The studio has been well kept over the years and still serves as place to record music.
