What movies were nominated for "Best Visual Effects" for the 2011 Oscar awards?
Which films are on the list for the "Best Visual Effects" award at the Academy Awards this year? Did you see any of the movies, and if so, what were your favorite special effects in the film. If you feel like telling us your favorite special effects movie of all time that would be pretty cool too!

Hi @brentw, there were actually five movies that were nominated for "Best Visual Effects" for the 2011 Oscar awards. The nominees include
* “Alice in Wonderland” ; starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham . The visual effect was by Carey Villegas , David Schaub, Ken Ralston, and Sean Phillips
* “Hereafter” : lovely film, amazing effects by Stephan Trojansky , Bryan Grill,Michael Owens and Joe Farrell
* “Inception” : This was also nominated for original screenplay. Very interesting and fascinating effects by Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley, Chris Corbould and Peter Bebb
* “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1” : this is courtesy of Tim Burke, Christian Manz and Nicolas Aithadi
* “Iron Man 2” : this movie is also one of my favorite and you really have to check out the visuals in this one. Great work by Ben Snow, Ged Wright and Daniel Sudick
I have to say that I was actually expecting them to be , because I was amazed by the effects in all of them. I have seen Alice in Wonderland and was fascinated by a lot of parts that had to do with Johnny Depp
